Job Description:

Optimum Safety Management is seeking a Safety Professional who will partner with and provide leadership, support, and consultation to Optimum’s clients to achieve excellence in their workforce safety management performance. A technical background combined with safety and management skills are necessary. We are looking for an individual having technical knowledge related to industrial operations, machine guarding-ANSI B11 standards, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. This individual should have experience working in heavy industrial environments. The individual must be able to identify gaps in current and desired safety performance, inspire client management toward improved safety performance and be able to manage multiple client relationships.

Safety Manager for an Industrial Facility

Required experience:
Safety Professional: 6+ years, Bachelor’s Degree Minimum in Safety, Industrial Operations, or equivalent discipline

Knowledge related to industrial operations, machine guarding-ANSI B11 standards, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing a must.

Account Management

· Identity gaps in current and desired safety performance

· Inspire/motivate client management toward improved Safety Performance

· Manage multiple client relationships

· Develop plans for growth in culture toward safety performance

· Provide assistance to client OSHA citation defense and mitigation

Implement Culture of Safety

· Elevate concerns and issues to client decision maker when needed

· Coach client leaders to be safety leaders

· Engage client employees in safety activities and processes

Administrative

· Execute established Quality Standards of work product

· Manage personal expenses and follow processes for reporting

Develop and Deliver Training Programs

· Develop and deliver (using effective presentation skills) ongoing training

· Provide a needs analysis for orientation, ongoing and specific training

· Deliver Leadership Development workshops and coach

Client Services (Safety Professional)

· Develop well-written and cohesive safety programs

· Perform on-site hazard assessments

. Perform machine guarding assessments

· Communicate with client all recommendations in a clear, concise and effective manner

· Perform thorough accident investigations and communicate findings in a clear and effective manner to management

· Assist client in management of OSHA and other regulatory body inspections

Qualifications

Minimum of 6 years in safety and a bachelor’s degree in Safety or equivalent, and 2 years minimum consulting experience. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Prefer OSHA Outreach, CPR or other trainer authorizations. Demonstrate proficiency in planning and using time efficiently.

Prefer certifications such as CSP, CHST, OHST. Must have an excellent track record of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to effectively train groups of workers. Demonstrate creativity with solutions and results-oriented, analytical, self-disciplined, a self-starter, be able to work with confidential information, discrete, and trustworthy.

Optimum Safety Management is seeking a Senior Safety Professional who will partner with and provide leadership, support, and consultation to Optimum’s clients to achieve excellence in their workforce safety management performance. The Candidate must be able to identify gaps in current and desired safety performance, inspire client management toward improved safety performance and be able to manage multiple client relationships. In addition, this individual will play a critical role in creating, implementing, and maintaining organized safety cultures for our new and existing clients.
