Title: Construction Safety Professional
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Description: Are you an innovative and experienced safety professional with the ability to lead and develop people and corporate safety management systems? We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about leading people and organizations with a goal to develop and grow them into their very best!
Essential job functions include:
- Evaluates, manages and ensures client regulatory compliance related to safety, health and environmental policies
- Thorough knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations
- Identifies best workplace practices with the overall goal to eliminate hazards, increase safety awareness and develop employee safe work habits
- Provide site inspections to observe compliance with federal and state regulations
- Implements site incident investigations to assess root cause with recommendations to eliminate future recurrences
- Develops and implements safety management systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment
- Conducts safety surveys to provide clients with innovative recommendations for corrective compliance
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of progressive environmental, health and safety experience
- CHST or OHST certified
- ASP, CSP, CIH or OSHA Outreach Trainer certification (a plus)
Skill Requirements:
- Experience with different aspects of environmental health and safety such as but not limited to:
- Job Hazard Analysis
- Personal Protective Equipment
- OSHA regulations
- Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Development and implementation of construction Safety Management Systems
- Ability to work effectively with Executive and Front-Line Management
- Proficient in the interpretation and application of legal requirements and company standards
- Assists with providing the guidance and technical assistance on safety and health related issues within the construction environment
- Provides the analysis and research of operational and strategic information to determine effective outcomes
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to partner with management teams on executing business plans
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook in addition to other applications as needed
- Bilingual English/Spanish (a plus)
